Frank Gorecki

Frank J. Gorecki III takes pleasure in a lively and eventful career as a trumpet performer, brass repairman, and educator. His musical pursuits have taken him throughout the United States and Europe as both a soloist and an ensemble musician. Performances of note include the Montreux Jazz Festival, St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Giants Stadium, Saint Ann’s Church in Dublin, and Carnegie Hall.

Frank is a graduate of Shepherd University, and studied trumpet performance under Wayne Cameron. In addition to holding several leadership positions in the Shepherd chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Frank aided many students and ensembles in recitals and concerts as a performer, composer, conductor, and recording technician.
In 2003, Frank traveled to Boulder, Colorado to participate in the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute. Six weeks later, he was recognized for outstanding trumpet performance at the Atlantic Brass Quintet summer seminar in Buffalo, New York for the second straight year. In March 2008, Frank was the winner of the “Adult High Brass- Slow Melody” solo competition at the North American Brass Band Association Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.

Frank serves as Principal Trumpet of the Frederick Symphony Orchestra, Eb Soprano Cornet with the Spires Brass Band, and is a member of the Hank Levy Legacy Band. He has played in numerous churches throughout the Mid-Atlantic for holiday and special services, such as weddings. Frank continues to perform as a freelance musician in a variety of settings and styles, including pit orchestras, funk bands, and chamber ensembles.
Frank has taught private lessons for over 10 years. In addition to teaching at the Musician’s Institute of Baltimore and the Music and Arts Center in Timonium, Frank maintains a busy private studio. His students include top players in county-wide and state-wide ensembles, as well as recreational players.
